It's about everybody – not just us.
Groundwater For Butte’s core group formed after the first Tuscan Water District ballot. That vote was later canceled, supposedly due to procedural errors... but we're sure it was also due to citizen pressure.
G4B's steering committee is made up veterans of various citizens’ campaigns, and some who have only recently taken on political activity. Some are involved in the ag business, directly or indirectly. Some are lawyers and other professionals.
Some of those who have expressed the most joy to discover that we exist, and have donated generously to fund media outreach, are well owners in the TWD area who can’t believe they’re being asked to fund a water-delivery boondoggle for the same deep-pocketed pumpers that recently forced them to put 20 grand down a hole just to stay on their grandfather's patch.
Everyone affiliated with Groundwater For Butte is a volunteer. Donations will be used to publicize this overlooked, critical issue. We are sounding the alarm to stave off what we think is a slow-motion disaster for our homes and neighbors and, too, the overall project of keeping northwest Butte agricultural.
